Katrina Saporsantos

A native of the Philippines, soprano Katrina Saporsantos has received several awards including First Prize in the Manhattan School of Music Eisenberg-Fried Concerto Competition in 2008, a Certificate of Distinction from the University of the Philippines in 2003, and Third Prize in the Philippine National Music Competitions for Young Artists in 2002.

At home with music from both the Romantic era and contemporary works, Ms. Saporsantos's performance highlights include the roles of Elisabetta in Donizetti's Maria Stuarda and Chimène in Massenet's Le Cid for the MSM Opera Studio opera scenes concert, and Bizen no Kata in Maramba's Lord Takayama Ukon for the Tokyo Opera Association; Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder and Mahler's 2nd Symphony ("Resurrection") with the MSM Philharmonia and Symphony Orchestras; the role of St. Mary in Sirota's cantata Holy Women for Palladium Musicum. She has also sung for masterclasses by opera singers Marilyn Horne, Stephanie Blythe and Lauren Flanigan, and performed under the baton of Kenneth Kiesler, Steven Osgood, Michael Dadap, Miles Morgan, Josefino Toledo, Joel Navarro, Eugene Castillo, Jonathan Velasco and Edward Ishita. She was heavily involved in choral music during the early stages of her music career, singing for the Ateneo de Manila Glee Club, one of the Philippines' most prestigious choral groups, where she was both a soloist and member.

Ms. Saporsantos completed her Professional Studies Certificate and Master of Music degree in Classical Voice at the Manhattan School of Music and her Bachelor of Music degree and Diploma in Creative and Performing Musical Arts from the University of the Philippines College of Music.
