Cynthia Guerrero De Leon

Pianist Cynthia Guerrero De Leon graduated with a double major in mathematics and music (summa cum laude) from Centro Escolar University. She maintains an active performing and teaching schedule aside from her role as Director of Operations and Department Head of the Chamber Music Program of the Children's Orchestra Society. She was Director of Finance for a multi-state executive recruitment firm specializing in quantitative sciences and served as Treasurer of the Professional Music Teachers Guild of NJ for 12 years.

Cynthia De Leon has performed in recitals and concerts with numerous musical artists, and was collaborative pianist in master classes handled by cellists Yo-Yo Ma and Irene Sharp, flutist Susan Milan, violinist Cho-Liang Lin and violist Michael Tree.

Compact Disc recordings include My Inner Heart Speaks featuring her own compositions, Panama with Mendele Chamber Ensemble, Heartstrings: Philippine Airs for Cello and Piano with cellist and daughter Sarighani, Gift of Song with coloratura soprano Lani Misenas, Immortal Philippine Songs with soprano Lisa Florentino and tenor Ramon Acoymo, and Meditation with the Mendele Trio. She has also published four books in Business Mathematics and Statistics.

Ms. De Leon and her daughter, Sarighani, are featured in the book, Nurturing Success: Successful Women of Color and Their Daughters by Professor Essie E. Lee (Praeger Press).

Gloria Shih

Gloria Shih

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Gloria Shih has received several awards including First Prize in the Taipei Piano Competition, Second Prize in the Taipei chamber music competition, and First Prize in the Schimmel Piano Competition. Ms. Shih earned her Bachelor's degree at Soochow University as a protégé of the renowned Se-Se Chang, and has appeared in numerous solo and chamber music performances throughout Taiwan. Having earned her Master's degree as a scholarship student under Lilian Kallir at the Mannes College of Music, she received a full scholarship to study with Christina Dahl at Stony Brook University. She received her doctorate degree from Stony Brook University in May, 2005.

Ms. Shih, the pianist of GracieuxTrio, has worked with members of the Emerson String Quartet, members of the Meridian Arts Ensemble, and members of the Metropolitan Opera. Her performances have included venues such as Carnegie's Weill Hall, Merkin Hall and Oji Hall in Tokyo. She has received critical acclaim for her performances throughout Asia, Europe and North America, including engagements in Philadelphia, North Carolina, Westchester, California, Maine, Maryland, Oregon, England, Japan, and South Korea.

Ms. Shih also serves on the faculty of Montclair State University and Brooklyn-Queens Conservatory of Music.
